Stink Bait

Stinky Stuff   
1-1/2 cup corn meal

3 tablespoons maple syrup

3 tablespoons honey

3 tablespoons dark kayro

3 tablespoons molasses  

Mix this together, then start adding flour until it makes a nice dough. set dough in the fridge overnight so it can chill and setup.

Soap Bait

Put 1/4 cup of water and a 1/4 of sugar in sauce pan and heat with a low flame from stove until sugar is dissolved.  Whittle a bar of Ivory soap into the mix(no deodorants).  SLOWLY stir.  Soap will melt to a goo/hot butter consistency.  Spray an old ice cube tray with cooking oil and pour your goo into the tray.  It's your choice on how big you want the bait.  Store in an air-tight container.

Cheese Bait

Use orange cheeses such as Cheddar or American

Boilies

10oz semolina

6oz soya flour

Brewers yeast

mixed spices

20 drops black pepper oil

4 mls of maple flavors

four medium eggs

Mix it all together.  Boil them, let them dry, and then freeze them.

Chum

Range Cubes(Purchase at any feed store).  The higher the protein, the more they will sink. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fish

Crappie

Mexican Crappie
Marinade filets overnight in salsa
Drain off excess salsa and roll in white cornmeal
Salt to taste

Fry 'em up & enjoy!

Texas Crappie
Coat Crappie in sour cream

Roll in mixture of salt, pepper, and cornmeal

Fry until golden brown and enjoy!


Bass

salt
pepper
vegetable oil
2cups flour
1 cup corn meal
1 ziploc freezer bag
milk
8 fillets

Combine salt, pepper, flour and cornmeal in ziploc bag and shake well.  Let fillets sit in bowl of milk for a minute, then place, one at a time, in ziploc bag and shake well.  Fry 'em up and enjoy!

 

 

More Fish

Catfish

Beer Battered Catfish
3 lb. catfish 
¼ cup cornmeal 
¼ cup flour 
2 eggs, beaten 
1 12-ounce beer 
¼ cup minced onion 
3 cups vegetable oil 
salt and pepper to taste

Combine flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl and mix together.  Add beer, minced onions, and a well-beaten egg in another mixing bowl and mix well.  Roll the catfish chunks into the flour mixture, then the beer/egg mixture, then back to the flour mixture.  Fry 'em up and enjoy!

Other

BBQ Salmon
4 (1/2lb) salmon steaks, 1-inch thick.
3/4 cup of brown sugar.
2 tablespoons of lemon juice.
2 tablespoons butter or margarine.

Combine sugar, lemon juice and butter in a saucepan.  Cook over low to until sugar is dissolved-Constantly stir!  Place Salmon steaks in greased, hinged fish basket and grill 4 inches from coals.  Cook 15 minutes on each side, occasionally brushing with sauce.  Enjoy! 

Deer Stew
1 pound bacon
2 pounds cubed deer meat
2 medium turnips -- cut up
1 large can Veg-All
1 can tomato sauce - (16 oz)
1 onion -- diced
Salt -- to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper -- to taste

Fry the bacon first and then use drippings to brown floured deer meat (or beef). Put browned meat in a slow cooker and pour in the liquid from the Veg-All. Add the tomato sauce, the diced onion and cut up turnips. (Add water as needed to obtain desired consistency.) Cook in crock pot 3 to 4 hours on HIGH (all day on LOW) or until meat is very tender.

Add Veg-All vegetables and bacon and cook an additional 15 minutes.
